Bangla-অঙ্কুর Tutorial

The interface of Bangla-অঙ্কুর is very simple. There are only 2 parts.

  1. Preview panel
  2. Main text field

Preview Panel:

The small panel shown (inside the red rectangle) in the above image is the preview panel. When a word is being edited the Bangla spelling of the word will be visible in the preview panel. For similarly pronounced words the preview panel will act like a menu and let the user choose the correct spelling. At the end of the edit session when the user press space bar, enter or click on the mouse button, the preview window will hide. When the user will start editing another word the panel will be visible again.

Main Text Field:

“Main text field” is the text field of your software. During an edit session, the main text field will show the English spelling of the word. When the edit session ends, the Bangla spelling will replace the English spelling in the main text field.

To use Bangla-অঙ্কুর you need to know three more things.

Firstly, you need to know the Bangla to English character(s) conversion table. To see the character conversion table go to “Bangla Character ➠ English Character(s)“.

Secondly, you have to know about two spacial characters. These 2 spacial characters are used to handle conjuncts and similarly pronounced words. Please go to “Spacial Characters“.

Thirdly, Conjunct formation. The way Bangla-অঙ্কুর forms conjuncts. This is very important, because the conjunct formation technique is quite different than that of other phonetic keyboard. To know about conjunct formation go to “Conjuct Formation“.
